Pediatric Therapy & Family Support
Therapy for Real Life.
Apex Neurodevelopment Therapy Center provides individualized therapy and family-centered support for children and adolescents ages 2–18. We serve families throughout Fairfax County, Northern Virginia, and the greater Washington, DC metropolitan area.
Our approach brings different specialties together around the goals that matter to your child and family: communication, independence, emotional regulation, relationships, and participation in everyday life. Recommendations are individualized. A child may benefit from one service or a combination of supports; every child does not need every therapy.
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy
Individualized support for communication, learning, regulation, daily routines, and meaningful participation. Goals connect skill-building with the situations your child encounters at home, at school, and in the community. In-home ABA is a delivery setting within ABA therapy.
Caregiver Education & Family Support
Practical guidance built around your family's priorities and daily life. Families and clinicians share observations, discuss goals, and explore manageable ways to support communication, routines, and independence without making every moment a therapy assignment.
Speech Therapy
Support for understanding and expressing language, speech production, social communication, and functional communication. The focus is helping children and adolescents share ideas, express needs, and connect with other people in ways that work for them.
Social Skills Groups
Supported opportunities to practice authentic communication and participation with peers. Shared interests, friendship, self-advocacy, and respect for different communication styles help shape meaningful goals. Ask our team about fit and current group options.
Occupational Therapy
Support for participation in daily activities, including self-care, fine motor tasks, sensory needs, motor planning, and everyday routines. Goals may involve getting dressed, using classroom materials, or managing more of a teen's daily routine independently.
Respite Care
Respite gives caregivers time for rest, appointments, work, or other family responsibilities while appropriate care is arranged for their child. Contact Apex to discuss your family's needs and ask about current options and requirements.
Feeding Therapy
Individualized support for feeding skills and mealtime participation. Understanding a child's comfort, sensory experiences, eating skills, and health history helps guide appropriate next steps and collaboration with other professionals when needed.
School Collaboration & Advocacy
Communication among families, clinicians, and educators can help connect goals across settings. Explore practical ways to share observations, discuss supports, and prepare for transitions, with attention to the student's strengths and priorities.
One Connected Approach, Individual Recommendations
Coordinated care begins with listening. Your child's interests, daily experiences, and your family's priorities help guide the conversation. When more than one specialty is involved, shared observations can help the team work toward related goals while each clinician contributes their own expertise.
