Therapy & Coordinated Care
-
Apex Neurodevelopment Therapy Center provides ABA Therapy, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Feeding Therapy, respite care, social skills groups, social skills modeling, caregiver education and support, and in-home services for children with a range of developmental needs. Each child’s services are individualized around their strengths, needs, goals, and everyday life.
-
Yes. Children can receive multiple therapy services at Apex when appropriate for their individual needs. ABA Therapy, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Feeding Therapy, and other supports can be coordinated around shared goals, giving families a more connected and consistent approach to care.
-
Therapy goals are individualized based on each child’s strengths and needs, clinical assessments, professional recommendations, and family priorities. Our team focuses on meaningful skills that can support communication, independence, regulation, learning, feeding, play, relationships, and participation in everyday life.
As children grow and make progress, goals can evolve with them so therapy continues to address the skills that matter most to the child and family.
-
PProgress is measured through ongoing assessment, clinical observation, data, family input, and each child’s individualized goals. Our clinicians regularly review progress and use that information to guide therapy and adjust goals and strategies as needed.
At Apex, progress also means seeing skills carry into everyday life — helping children and adolescents communicate, participate, build relationships, and become more independent at home, at school, and in the community.
-
When a child receives multiple services, our clinicians collaborate across disciplines to create consistent support around shared goals. Each professional brings the expertise of their discipline while communicating with the care team about priorities, progress, and strategies.
This coordinated approach helps connect ABA Therapy, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Feeding Therapy, and family support around the child’s individual needs and everyday life.
Families & Everyday Life
-
Parents and caregivers are important members of the therapy team. Apex provides caregiver education and support to help families understand therapy goals, learn practical strategies, share what is working at home, and support their child’s progress throughout everyday routines.
Our team works collaboratively with families so strategies are realistic, useful, and connected to each child’s individual needs and family life.
-
At Apex, therapy is designed to help children use new skills beyond the therapy session. Depending on each child’s goals, this may include communicating needs, managing emotions, participating in family routines, developing independence, expanding feeding skills, playing with others, or participating more confidently at school and in the community.
We create opportunities for children to practice and generalize skills across people, activities, and everyday settings so that progress becomes meaningful in real life.
-
Yes! Apex offers respite care that gives families trusted support while providing children with meaningful opportunities to practice social skills in real-life situations. Children can use the communication, social, self-regulation, and independence skills they have been building during individual therapy in a natural group setting with peers.
Through shared activities, play, and everyday interactions, children have opportunities to practice taking turns, communicating needs, joining activities, cooperating with others, managing emotions, and building friendships. This helps bridge the gap between learning a skill in individual therapy and using it confidently in everyday life.
At the same time, respite care gives parents and caregivers time to rest, spend time together, or attend to other responsibilities while their child is engaged in a safe, supportive, and purposeful environment.
-
Yes. With family authorization, Apex can collaborate with schools and other professionals involved in a child’s care. This may include sharing relevant goals and strategies, participating in care coordination, and helping families communicate about their child’s needs across settings.
Collaboration can create greater consistency between therapy, home, school, and other environments where children learn and participate.
-
es. When appropriate to a child’s needs and treatment plan, Apex can support children in the environments where everyday life happens. Home and community settings provide valuable opportunities to practice communication, independence, regulation, social interaction, and daily living skills in meaningful situations.
Practicing skills in natural environments helps children learn to use what they have developed in therapy across different people, places, and routines.
-
The Apex Peer Ambassador Program creates inclusive opportunities for children to practice communication and social skills through natural interaction with peers. Peer Ambassadors participate alongside children in shared activities, games, conversations, and everyday social experiences, creating opportunities for connection and learning that feel natural and meaningful.
Children can practice skills such as initiating interaction, maintaining conversations, taking turns, cooperating, navigating group activities, and building friendships with support when needed. The program reflects our belief that children grow not only through individualized instruction, but also through relationships, shared experiences, and meaningful participation with others.
Insurance & Payment
-
Apex works with insurance plans based on service, plan requirements, and authorization. During the intake process, our team can review your insurance information, help you understand applicable coverage and documentation requirements, and explain the next steps for accessing services.
-
Yes. Our team can help families understand TRICARE and other insurance coverage options. We can review available information, explain documentation and authorization requirements that may apply, and help families understand the steps involved in accessing therapy services.
Because coverage varies by plan and service, we review each family’s situation individually and provide guidance throughout the intake process.
-
Private-pay options may be available for certain services. Our team can explain available services, rates, payment expectations, and scheduling during the intake process so families can make informed decisions about their child’s care.
-
Some therapy services may require insurance authorization before care begins. Apex can help families understand the documentation and authorization steps associated with their insurance plan and guide them through the intake process.
Coverage and authorization requirements vary by insurance plan, service, and individual circumstances, so our team reviews these details with each family.
